Welcome

The Pennsylvania State Animal Response Team is a coordinated effort between several governmental, corporate, and private entities dedicated to the preparation, planning, response, and recovery of animal emergencies in Pennsylvania. The team's mission is to develop and implement procedures and train participants to facilitate a safe, environmentally sound and efficient response to animal emergencies on the local, county, state, and federal level.

The Chester County CART (County Animal Response Team) is the county branch of the State Animal Response Team. It is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation and all donations are tax deductible. In the event of an emergency we will post emergency animal shelter information here and broadcast it on local radio stations.

Through its County Animal Response Teams (CARTS), PASART provides the following services free to the communities affected by natural or man-made disasters.

  • Setup of temporary animal relief shelters
  • Evacuation of animals
  • Rescue of abandoned or stranded animals
  • Implementation of record keeping and identification system
  • Limited transportation of animals
  • Coordination of initial veterinary care for sick and injured animals
  • Coordination of animals food and supplies
  • Lost animal documentation
  • Reuniting animals with caregivers
